Leeds Country Way relay – 6th Sept.

Our Saltaire Striders team finished 22nd out of 47 teams. Not bad to say that we also supplied the Airedale Athletics team with 7 runners.

The Airedale Athletics team finished 2nd behind Valley Striders.

On leg 1, Will Kerr and Saltaire newcomer Carl Kernick narrowly lost out on winning the leg finishing 10 seconds adrift of the Valley Striders winning pair.

On leg 2 Matt Nowell and Andy Bedford (running for the Airedale Athletics team) were the fastest pair whilst Jen Willingham & Richard Stone were fastest mixed pair (and beat every lady pair) to finish 10th fastest overall.

On leg 4 Laura and Ben Marchant were the quickest mixed pairing and 12th overall.

On leg 5, Jeremy Wright & Stewart Spink were 15th quickest on the day but claimed a Saltaire Striders leg record.
