Club prize presentation evening
If someone asks you what you are doing on Friday 15th May, what will you tell them? Will you tell them that you are staying in, folding your race t-shirts, fingering your bling, dreaming of past glories? Or will you tell them that you will be having an awesome night filled with laughter and fun, celebrating all of the running achievements of our wonderful running club in the last year?
Don't miss out on the event of the year! Get your tickets today and come and join us in a celebration of all things Stridery from the last year or so:
All members are invited to attend: from the longest standing member to the newest recruit. Bring your partner, bring a friend - the more the merrier! If you are a member of this club, we want to see you at our awards evening!
The evening will feature a delicious finger buffet, disco, fully-stocked raffle, quiz with prizes, our co-captains' address, and a plethora of awards, including:
Club Championships - top 3 in each division
Club Personality of the Year - points from SOTM nominations and marshaling at events
The Deja Vu award - for most Strider of the Month nominations without a win
PECO Most Improved awards - male and female under-40, and male and female over-40
Striders' Strider awards - two awards voted for by you the members
Committee's Choice award - as voted for by the committee
...and more!
This year we will again be hosted by the Mercure (Bankfield) Hotel - the one at the end of the Bingley bypass by the roundabout - on Friday 15th May, with the evening starting from 7:30pm.
All of this excellent fun for less than £20! What more could you ask for?

March featured race
Epilepsy Action Bradford 10k - 15th March
Starting in Bradford City centre near the City hall the route heads out on closed roads to Little Germany with a short climb up Vicar Lane before heading down Church Bank and out to Canal Road and Shipley Airedale Road. At Stanley road there is another slight rise into Bolton Woods before returning to Canal Road and heading towards Shipley on Valley Road. Turning round in Valley road you then head back to Bradford past the side of Broadway and finishing along Market Street back to City Park.
The race is a firm fixture in the local running diary and has sold out for the last 3 years. Last year over 60 Striders took part in the race with many more out on the course marshalling.

April featured race
Guiseley Gallop
This race is held each year on Easter Sunday so this years race is on Sunday 12th April 10:30. It is a multi-terrain approx 10k 2 lap route with plenty of hills and mud!
Parking and registration (collect race number on the day) is at the West Side retail park (Argos) at Guiseley - there is usually entry on the day for those wanting to make a last minute decision. The start is a 5 minute jog down the hill in the woods with the finish on the service road just at the back of Argos with a bottle of beer or miniature bottle of wine for every finisher.
The race starts on the rocky/muddy track and descends steeply then heads into the woods with mud and tree roots to contend with. On emerging from the woods you head back towards Esholt village on the flat dirt track and then the old filter beds road. You then head back into the woods and a long drag then steep climb to the top level of the woods where you do a flatish circuit before a steep muddy descent back to the main track for lap 2.. The last mile includes another muddy climb.
