Vets Series 2009

This years vets series starts this Sunday at Horsforth (10:00 start).  The changing is in the park just off the ring road (turn left at the 11th Earl and car park is on the left or on the side road past the car park) the start is down the lane just below the Horsforth roundabout. Please remember all St. Bede's runners should enter the GP series under the 'Airedale Athletics' umbrella (championships e.g. 5k, etc. should still be entered as St. Bede's).  If you don't have an Airedale Athletics vest yet can you please try and run in a plain white T-shirt with maybe Airedale athletics written on it or written on a sheet of paper and pinned to the back.

Bede's EGM

Don't forget the EGM is next Tuesday 3rd February to elect a new club committee - you should already have had details of the agenda and committee job descriptions - please give some thought to whether you can help with the running and organisation of YOUR club.

Club Dinner

The clubs annual dinner is being held on Saturday 21st February at Baildon Golf club (7:30 for 8:00).  Tickets are priced at £16.50 and includes disco afterwards.  Tickets are available from Graham Eastell please make an effort to attend - it should be a great night.

Club organised races

We will soon be needing volunteers to help with marshalling for the Bradford Epilepsy Action 10k (Sunday 29th March), the John Carr series (6th, 13th and 20th May) and the Bradford Millennium Way relay (Sunday 14th June) if you would like to help with any of these events then let me or Dave Armstrong know.

Belgium trip 2009

This years trip to Belgium for the off-road relay will be from Friday 31st July to Monday 3rd August.  If you want to go let me know ASAP the later you leave it the more expensive it will be.  Tickets are currently available for £9.99 (plus taxes etc.) on Jet2.  If you haven't been before and are wondering what its about or whether to go just speak to anyone who's been before - its a great weekend.

And Finally...

Ever fancied running through the Grand Canyon (yes I did say the Grand Canyon as in Arizona!!).  Well Simon Forde has links with a club in Salt Lake City  and we are looking at possibly organising a trip to do a 24 mile run in the Grand Canyon in October 2010.  If you think you might be interested in this once in a lifetime opportunity then let me or Simon know.
