West Yorkshire Winter League

The 4th race in this years winter league series will take place next Sunday 27th January at Stainland (11:00 start)  The course is a new course and after the recent weather is bound to be wet and muddy.   After the last event we need a good turnout, it would be nice to get 3 ladies out including a lady vet if possible.  A good turnout from the men is also required.

The start and finish will be from Stainland Rugby club which is situated next to the Red Lion pub in Stainland. The Red Lion is a massive red building in the middle of Stainland village and you simply cannot miss it if you drive through Stainland (there's only one main road). There is car parking available at the venue but you are  encouraged to car share if possible. There are also toilet and changing facilities available in the Rugby club- although very small and basic!!!!
The presentation, raffle etc will be held at Heath Rugby club in West Vale. It is literally 5 mins down the road and is where last years race was held. There is ample parking available. The course is 5.5 miles long and includes a range of terrain from fields, tracks, a stream crossing and two small road crossings (which will be marshalled by the police). It will be very muddy so nothing but fell or good trail shoes recommended.  To see a map of the course click on the link http://www.stainlandlions.com/Club_Races/2008/CrossCountry/StainlandXCRoute2008.pdf
