Belgium Trip 2007

For the last 3 years we have organised a trip to Belgium to take part in a 10 mile trail race organised buy our sister club AVOS (7k and 3.5 options also available - as well as just going to enjoy the weekend and the beer!).   This years race is on Saturday 4th August.  We will fly from Leeds/Bradford airport at 18:00 on Friday 3rd August returning on the 20:45 flight from Amsterdam on Monday 6th August.  The cost for return flights will be approx. £86.  We will also need to pay for transport to/from Amsterdam to Turnhout and obviously for meals, drinks, entertainment etc over the weekend.

Come and marvel at the strange Belgian gardening techniques (and implements), now rumoured to be being adopted by some of our members - although I have no evidence to prove this! or try your hand at busking as recently seen on our website! or they'll probably have something new lined up to entertain us.  In the past we have been canoing, Tandem riding, to a water ski display, hopping in and out of Belgium and to the biggest Nike factory in Europe.  Last year 16 of us went and had a thouroughly enjoyable time if you want any more infotrmation see Jack Verity or Carol Raistrick. If you want to put your name down then let me know and I will make the bookings the sooner we make the bookings the cheaper it will be.

Good Causes 2007

Club members are asked to nominate good causes to receive donations from the proceeds of the John Carr 5k series.   This could be a charity which you have close links to through family or could be a charity who you are planning to run the London marathon or Gt. North run for or any cause which you feel deserves our support.  Nominations close next Friday 11th March.
